It can be yours for a mere $1200 (I think).

Did you get to drive it? You should write a post about that! I've always been curious what these are like.

I only got to drive it very briefly on a dirt path since it's not insured or licensed. But it was pretty interesting. This one isn't in as good a shape as it looks in the photo, but the engine seemed solid, and I have no idea what the transmission was supposed to feel like, but I'd describe the shifter as a bit vague and the clutch as forgiving. Afterwards, I began to wonder if it was actually just slipping constantly because it seemed like I could nearly stop with first gear engaged and it wouldn't die. Granted, I never fully stopped, but it made me wonder. The car itself was pretty tight inside, but my 6'3" self fit decently, and would have felt like I fit better if the headliner wasn't drooping onto my head.

The sound was probably the best part. The V4 engine is very unique sounding. It feels like it has decent power, but the need to shift comes sooner than you'd expect. I might write more on it tomorrow when I post some more pictures.

The Freewheeler was engaged. most likely. Old SAABs had them to keep the 2-cycle engines alive while coasting. No lubrication unless they are under throttle. They carried over when they put the Ford V-4s in them. Weird feeling of no engine braking, etc.
